Shallow Manhattan socialite Glory Franklyn (Marian Nixon) crashes her car into a gas station in the exclusive resort town of Silver Beach, Mass., and meets hunky mechanic Blackstone “Blacky” Gorman (Joel McCrea). Blinded by dollar signs, Blacky ditches his adoring fiancée, Marje Harris (Ginger Rogers), to elope with the seductive Glory.
