Teddy (David Manners) dreams of being a big star, but is stuck in a mediocre band. Everything changes when the band’s singer falls ill moments before an important gig and a drunken patron hands the soft-spoken Teddy a microphone. Teddy’s singing is an instant hit, and before long he has struck out on his own. With the help of his girlfriend (Ann Dvorak) and a hungry publicist (Ken Murray), Teddy becomes a major star, but his increasingly arrogant attitude threatens to derail his career. More on Wikipedia
