An evening at Hoffman’s Parisian Dance Palace offers a dance contest with the added attraction of a free public wedding and a furnished home for a bridal couple. Tall and handsome Bill Cleaver and gum-chewing, wise-cracking Jazzbo Gans, usual dance partners, are amused to hear “Needles” Thompson, an overly dressed sheik, declare he will win the cup. But when Bill sees Molly, Thompson’s partner, he schemes to meet her. After some effort he manages to win her attention; and in a secluded booth they discuss their mutual problems, leaving Needles and Jazzbo to their devices. Later they are induced to substitute for the bridal couple, asserting their independence. Mrs. O’Neill is shocked to learn that Bill is only a soda jerk, but Mrs. Cleaver is sympathetic. Their happiness is threatened when Jazzbo lures Bill to another dance contest, but they are reconciled after Needles wins a cup with Jazzbo. More on Wikipedia or Mubi
