John and June Wyatt seem to be happily married until June discovers John has been having an affair with her best friend, Ellen Pierce. June leaves for Reno to get a divorce. There, Adrian Garrett, an unscrupulous lawyer, introduces her to another divorcée, Gwen Maynard. Gwen admits that she plans to have a good time during her wait in Reno and suggests that June do the same. She encourages her to use the fake name “Peggy.” Gwen introduces June as “Peggy” to Roy Carlton, who is also in Reno for a divorce. Meanwhile, John has followed June to Reno, hoping to stop their divorce. John meets Roy without knowing of his relationship to June, and the two men get drunk together. Roy suggests that they get together with two women he knows and telephones Gwen and “Peggy” to meet them at a gambling club. John is stunned when “Peggy” turns out to be June. He begs her to reconsider her plans, but she angrily refuses. She flirts with Roy, agreeing to meet him later at his apartment. She soon realizes her mistake and runs away, but they have been followed by Roy’s wife Rita, who kills Roy after June leaves. June is accused of Roy’s murder, and John gallantly claims he is guilty in order to save her. When June is released, Rita confronts her in her room and threatens to kill her as well. Fortunately, her threats are overheard and she is arrested. June and John are reconciled. More on Wikipedia
