Roger Bradley, also known as the “Gold Baron,” buys a newspaper to cover up his own crooked dealings and attempts to sway public opinion against the police commissioner. Cub reporter Daniel H. Gridley tries to get the scoop on two stories–one, a burglary as it happens–but another reporter always has the story before him. Daniel’s girl friend, a coat check girl, provides him with a missing clue, and he is able to identify Bradley and the rival reporter as cohorts in crime. More on Wikipedia
