Cowboy Clay Conning rescues a theatrical troupe stranded in the little town of Red Rock by using the lead dancer, Blondie, to threaten to compromise the hotel owner, Abner Jenkins. Clay pays their hotel bill and induces the townsmen to pay their rent in advance. But Martha Jenkins, whose husband owns the opera house, intervenes, whereupon Clay, who has fallen in love with Mary, the leading lady, begins courting Mrs. Jenkins to win her consent. The show goes on as they are riding and romancing, but Frank Blake, a cattle rustler convicted by Clay’s testimony and just released from jail, holds up the box office and captures Clay.
