Blinded by an airplane crash in France, Jeff swears vengeance on John C. Tullock, a profiteering manufacturer, who produces faulty planes for government contracts. Not wanting to inflict his disability on others, he has his pal Jimmy tell Mary, his sweetheart, that he was killed and buried at sea. Jeff and Jimmy become mechanics in a Tullock plant, and when Tullock finds Jeff working on his own plane and learns the circumstances of his affliction, he pays the cost of an operation to restore his sight, meanwhile keeping his identity a secret. At a party given by Tullock, Mary, at the insistence of her fellow chorus girl, Cassie, meets the manufacturer, who takes an interest in her ambitions to be a singer; as a result of his affection for Mary, he becomes a philanthropist, and they are married. Recovering his sight, Jeff resigns himself to the state of affairs, though he still loves Mary. While on a flight with Jeff, however, the industrialist, realizing his wife loves Jeff, leaps out of the plane to his death. More on Wikipedia or Mubi
